After looking at The Guardian website, I decided a cool turquoise would work well, as it was sophisticated yet still linked subtly to the blue of Conservatives. Furthermore, I felt that it would help to add a cohesive and not too over bearing feel to the article.

A Day in the Life Production
Through using photoshop and hand rendered techniques I began to create pieces which I felt had real potential to be my final outcomes. I continued to use negative space to my advantage, and used the multiply, levels and fill tools to create what I felt were dynamic and interesting compositions. I also looked quite a bit into colour, as it is such a huge impact on the aesthetic of the piece. I originally looked at a 'conservative' blue, but I felt this was not only too obvious, but also didn't contrast enough with the black line. I also explored red, but I felt this had too many links with Labour. In addition I experimented with a mustard colour, which although I felt was pleasing on the eye, I thought lacked the links to the article which some of the other colours possessed.
