Responsive- Illustration 12" Let's Eat Grandma development

INTENT:
- To expand on the eerier parts of the song and create an outcome which focuses in on the core themes of the song
- To create a fun, funky but slightly rebellious image

HOW:
- I drew out my main imagery then scanned it in and played around with colours on photoshop
- I thought I could move this imagery into screen print to develop further and create a more professional outcome
- I didn't have much time to work on this song, so I found it useful to work quickly and digitally without the design decisions being from on the computer, as I struggle to work this way

WHY:
- I found the song very creepy but also quite rebellious, so I picked up on some core imagery, of the starfish, and the words 'I don't care' which I think summed up the ideology of the song
- I explored different tones of voice through extensive texting of colours and compositions on photoshop rather than slower analogue methods
- I used the standard orange of starfish, but then turned it on its head by flipping the colours to an unnatural blue

REFLECTIONS:
- I have mixed feelings about this piece, as it is very different to my normal work, but it was an educational experience working in this manner
- I should have done more roughing first deciding on a polished composition and rough idea of type rather than heading straight to colours
- I'm happy I decided to add imagery rather than focus on a solely text based outcome, as I think this adds a lot more interest
- I need to try to start working on projects, even a little, right from the start and don't leave them until the last minute
