Book cover

Today I talked with Matt, Jamie and a few of my course mates to help decide what I am going to do for a cover. We decided fairly early on that a loose cover which was either completely separate or only attached to the back would be best to allow the artwork to speak for itself.

I also set up my inDesign document and put my photoshopped images in. I then printed this as a test copy and was fairly happy with it, although there are a few imperfections on the images which I will need to correct before my final print.

What was successful?
- Like the simplicity of cover 2, think it fits well with the book
- Once I talked to the digital support I found inDesign fairly easy to use and I am confident that my book will print how I want it to
- Quite like the texture of layered papers in cover 1
- Think the mechanism of cover 2 will work well

What wasn't successful?
- Cover 3 is too busy/ complicated
- GRAMMAR 'how many coats ARE too many?' make sure to always write correctly

What am I doing next?
- Decide between cover 1 and 2, ask in the studio tomorrow
- Look at possible colours for cover
- Alter images so they are ready to print
