Greetings from- Animals and cities drawings

I was feeling really 'stuck' with this project, so I decided to work on loose sheets to get out of my sketchbook and free up my thinking. I have been able to develop an idea which I am really happy with, and although I still have to develop them through more roughing and vector work, I now feel confident that I have a direction to follow, which I was finding really difficult.

What do I like?
- Limited colour palette of earlier sketches
- How elements of cities are contained within the animals
- Like the working process of spreading sheets out and getting through the 'block'
- Like idea of placing big objects in the cities they are named after

What didn't I like?
- Wetherspoons roughs felt too forced, and I think the carpet mixed with the animals and drink will look dated
- Could try to be more precise with line placement, although they're 'roughs' they don't have to me too rough
- Scale could be improved to draw attention to the right parts

What will I do next?
- Push the animals and city scapes idea more- clarify them and draw from reference
- Start to work in vectors
- Think about colours

What have I learnt?
- To work looser when I'm struggling and just explore ideas
- Working outside of my sketchbook can ensure I document my ideas, without worrying about how they look
- The use of coloured pencils whilst roughing can help me to visualise how they would work
