Top line, original colours, bottom tones are revisions:
Wanted to only slightly change my original colours to make them more cohesive but keep the diversity |
A more turquoise blue and a softer pink make the colours more equal and ensure they don't fight each other |
Sharpening the green and yellow slightly so that they still stand out against the fairly strong grey |
Initial designs, before colour alterations |
Accidentally made this effect, quite like how different it looks, but the shells loose their presence |
With softer, less competitive grey |
With revised colours- final design |
I knew I didn't want to change the colour pathways too much as I think they go well together whilst still being different enough to carve a new identity for their city.
I think spending this time looking solely at colour was extremely beneficial, as I have been able to very finely tune the shades to reflect the tone I want the postcards to convey.
