Greetings from- Research

Following yesterdays feedback I decided to shift my focus slightly and look at where the biggest exports of certain shellfish are, as I really like how the connotations of my Maine postcard are how the biggest export 'make the city'.

Therefore I researched other types of shellfish, and where they are most commonly farmed, and I thick I will be able to make these a strong set by using vivid imagery for the shell and individual skylines, but with similar compositions.

Cockles- Leigh-on-Sea, England
Mussels- Napier, New Zealand
Oysters- Portland, Maine, America
Sea snails- Port Lincoln, Australia

I found it surprisingly difficult finding out where the biggest ports were for specific selfish, and in some cases I have focused on bigger cities nearby rather than the main small fishing villages in order to study more interesting architecture. I feel now that I have collected a wide range of starting points from which I can work to develop my vector images.

I have also decided to try and limit my colour palette, and maybe only use a few colours in order to not make it too complicated.

I tried removing the tone from my textured Oyster and I quite like the outcome, but I feel it looks a bit too digital, so I will experiment more with different textures to see how I can develop my work further.
